Architecture can be about the name behind the project or it can be about the people using it.
In the first case, it’s all about the building and the exclusive design, form over function, more ego, less empathy. In the second case, it’s about the effect the design has on people, how it improves their lives, how inviting and inclusive it is. And affordable. Designing for the 1% doesn’t do much for the world.
Since moving to Stockholm I started noticing how much thought has been put into the built environment. I’ve been paying a lot more attention to the urban design and the ways we interact with it, and I started photographing in a more architectural style, but really being interested in the everyday life and the human-centric design examples. So there will be a focus on urban mobility and placemaking, not just on the building itself. See below a selection from my portfolio and let me know if you have something beautiful to photograph!
