Seeing Dubrovnik for the first time is impressive.
Maybe the fact that most people have in mind the picture of an east-european country has something to do with it. You don’t exactly come to Eastern Europe expecting exotic looking places. But Dubrovnik is actually just that. A mixture of amazing colors in the water with fortresses rising from it and mountains next to them. And when I say fortresses, I don’t mean the kind that makes you think it would collapse on the next visitor, namely you.
The Old Town is in really good shape here. It’s well maintained and full of life. In the weekend it’s buzzing with tourists and you can loose a good amount of time standing in line for the tickets you need to tour the town on it’s ancient walls, for example. The picture above was made on that wall.
